a little bit of HGTV excitement around here

We live on a very quiet little tree-lined neighborhood street
with no drama and nice neighbors.

So, imagine my surprise this morning when I got in my car
to leave for work and realized there was a camera crew
in the street.  In order to back out of my driveway,
I would have to back into their "scene."

Turns out, it was an HGTV crew filming an episode
of "Househunters" at the house for sale across the street.
Apparently, they filmed there all day because my son saw them
packing up when he came home from school.

So, I whipped out my trusty iPhone to snap a couple of
really quick pictures and then thought, oh heck, I'll just
go ahead and get a little video for my blog friends.

Pardon the poor quality since I was in my car, in a hurry and
late for work.  You get the idea though.

It was interesting because there was no HGTV truck.
It was very hush hush.
In the video when you see the car pull up,
that's "take 2" which is why I was waiting to leave.
That car had to back up (now blocking my driveway)
and roll up to the house for a second time.

Anyway, thought you might find it interesting.
You don't see a cameraman
in the middle of your street everyday.
It's the closest I'll get to ever being on any HGTV show.

  1. That's so cool! You should have made your son come out and wave in the background with a sign that said "Hi Mom!" LOL!!

  2. They were filming on trash pick up day? How funny. Wonder if the cans will be on HGTV...

  3. What?! You didn't just mosey on over and let them know there was a feature-worthy house right across the street? :@

  4. Well, that's cool! No, you don't see a camera man in the middle of the street every day! The only thing I've seen was the google street view car driving past, taking pictures for google earth. Doesn't really compare!

  5. How cool is that. I would totally be taking pictures too. Finding the house that Sarah Richardson made over was the closest I've got to HGTV. We have to take what we can when we can ;)

  7. That is so funny, you sitting in the car video taping them! I watch that show a lot. Sometime I am so irked by some of the buyers and their nose in the air attitude. I wonder if they'll buy it!
