We couldn't take it anymore

Things just haven't been the same around here
since we lost Bella back in January.
We just couldn't take it anymore.
So, we've added a new member to our family.
It's time to move on; time for a new beginning.

Meet Scarlett,
or at least that's her name right now.
She was born on Valentine's Day
and we got her yesterday evening.
We've had a hard time deciding on a name
so the next time you read about her,
I could be calling her something else
(Harlow, Marlowe, Bailey, Bijou, who knows?)

Maisy loves her.
They play constantly.
Little 4 pound Maisy has no idea
that little Scarlett will be 70 pounds in no time.
She thinks they are the same size.

Ballou is thrilled that Maisy has someone
to play with so maybe now she will leave Ballou alone.
Ballou is 10 years old and has no interest
in the nonsense of young pups.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter weekend.
Happy Easter

    1. Thanks! We will enjoy this time, the sweet parts (not the chewing on everything, tinkling in the house part). I think the name may already be changing to one of the others. Stay tuned!

    1. Thanks Stephanie! My husband really needed her. The smaller dog is really mine and Ballou just isn't very active anymore. He needed an active lab to be his new little buddy. By the way, had fun in McKinney on Saturday. I'll be posting about that this week.

    1. Thanks Grace. We were a little worried about Maisy's reaction since she likes to be the center of attention. We were so pleasantly surprised when we saw how excited she was about "puppy." It was like she said "Oh wow, a new friend just for me?"

    1. I do. Is she so adorable that it makes you want one for your kids? Wouldn't they love one of those?

    1. I think you are right. We just focused on missing Bella and the little void she left. This little one is a positive addition to our nest.

    1. I can't wait either. I think Maisy will wake up one day and be blown away by the huge dog in front of her. She just doesn't realize how little she is and how big new puppy will be. Should be fun as long as new puppy doesn't squish her!

  9. Oh how sweet! That face, how can anyone pass that up! My labs are 7 and 5... I think it's time for an addition to our little group. Perhaps a chocolate to go with the yellow and the black :)

    1. Oh yes, you need to complete your set! One of each would be so much fun. Yours are at such great ages. We loved that age, young enough to play and have fun, old enough to be calm when directed and smart enough to understand and communicate so much. Let us know when a chocolate joins your group :)

  10. She is absolutely precious. I hope she can help fill the voice of your beloved Bella. Who knows...maybe she's Bella returning. ;0)

    Cheers,

    1. You know, out of all of the little puppies available (there were 5 girls), we picked her because she was already showing some of the qualities we loved in Bella. I hope they do have some of the same good qualities. That would be great!

  11. What an adorable pup!! We too lost our 12 yr old Lab in Sept. We weren't planning on another puppy but my husband's family breed Labs and sent us a pic of the last one in the litter...a Choc. We fell in love at first site. We drove from FL to SC to get him in Oct. This puppy has saved my heart!! And BTW, I love your blog...just came across it today. :)
