We have lived in our house for 8 1/2 years and I have hated our outdoor light fixture since day one. It hangs by the garage door on the front of the house and since there are no trees to hide it, it is easily seen and sticks out like sore thumb. It's brassy and cheap and just not my style (I'm sorry if anyone has one like this and loves it. It's just not me.)
I've been wanting a new fixture and have been looking all over.
I want something that fits the style of the house, my style, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I wanted something like this:
I love this place and will make purchases there in the future but I couldn't see spending a couple of hundred dollars or more on a small outdoor light. It is an awesome light though!
So, while picking up some paint at Lowe's, I spotted my new light fixture.
$19.98! That's it! I love it.

Who knew a $20 light fixture could bring so much joy and completely change the look of our house?
I"m with you on loving those rustic industrial style lights - good find at $20.
ReplyDeleteI love Barn Electric too. What a great find! Was that on sale? It's a terrific fixture.
ReplyDeleteYay! Another Texas girl! Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteLove the new lights...they add so much more cottage charm to your home...great choice!

That light fixture is pretty great. $20 makes it even better!
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks great and what a deal!
ReplyDeleteLOVE.IT. !!!! $20 well spent!
ReplyDeleteI love that fixture. Reminds me of the big ones down at the marina. I was actually thinking of using it in the half bath we want to add on. Do you think it would be too large? Or weird? I want something industrial or nautical feeling. I'll see if I can find a smaller version.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh~ LUST!
ReplyDeleteI have the same 'before' lights. Now you have planted another seed...
LOVE IT! We purchased "Outdoor" jar type light fixtures for the living room! For 20 dollas I'd said it was a steal!
ReplyDeleteLove your choice. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteI am sooo offended because I have the exact same lights on the front of my house. Thanks a lot Gina! ;) no seriously we do have the exact same ones. . . sigh. There's a lot of tacky brass in this house unfortunately-- it was built in the years that it was the style, unfortunately. I love your new choice!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that is a LOVELY improvement!
ReplyDeleteI don't like victorian scrolly things either.
Lovely!
Your new light fixture is fabulous!! What a bargain:) Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend ~ Tina xx
ReplyDeleteyep.. I like this better! I have the same light fixture for my porch lights... they are brass and it bugs me! One day they will be gone!! :)

That new fitting fits your house beautifully. What a great job!
ReplyDeleteSweet salamander! Your new light fixture is epically stunning. Now when strangers (or comrades; anyone) see my house, they won't think "What a nice house with a bland, average light fixture on the side of their house!" Instead, they'll think "What a nice house with a -- WHAT IS THAT?!" Mindblowing. Thank you for posting this.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Your son Sean
