Industrial chic

I really wanted to participate in Margo's Junkin Journal Industrial Chic linky party.  I know I like my farmhouse/cottage style but I also like to throw in little industrial touch now and then.  So, here's a bit of my industrial touches:
vintage tiller in the garden
old mattress springs in the shape of a heart....
...painted and hung on the porch.
Big metal milk box in the kitchen used to hold extra paper towels and supplies.
Garden hose holder sits on the front porch.
Galvanized metal form to make garden concrete edging hangs above the den.
industrial funnel now a dining room light fixture
this often holds a plant or jar
old drill bits used by my Dad who was a jeweler sit on the mantel.
Love these bits for some crazy reason.
The pulley and other vintage goodies sit in the niche in the entry.

old railway lantern
My Dad's jeweler's loop hangs around the house.
Old metal tool box sits now in the dining room to hold napkins and other supplies.

Just a few of my favorite industrial touches.

  1. A lot of cool things! Did you make the heart yourself? It's very cute.

My favourite is the industrial funnel light.

The thing I love about industrial chic is that you know your pieces are unique.

  3. *sigh* Your hip industrial chic in MY house would look like "Don't you have a garage for all that?"

    How do you do that??

  10. I have the same pulleys!! I love them. I have one outside with a plant hanging from it and one inside with a fish bowl hanging from it. Love all this industrial stuff. I see great ideas like this on the Junk market site. Love that site.

  11. I love your industrial stuff~there's just something about old metal and wood together . It's not something you can fake, either.

    The pulley is awesome!
